City Head Nails were named because of where they were used. When Carriage Horses were prominent in the cities they used City Head nails in Shoes. These have larger than normal heads to fit larger than normal shoes. Still used today but in many applications, such as with some Race Plates as well as being Ideal for Riding Horses when Larger Nail Heads are needed.
