Originally released in 1976, the Jeans was designed and released with another model named the Cord. So why the weird object names for a pair of shoes? The thinking here was that adidas would design shoes to be worn with specific pants—Jeans for your jeans and Cord to go with your cords (it was the '70s after all). Much like the successful City Series, the adidas Jeans and Cord were essentially the same models with different finishes.
